Specialist Notes

The chronicle begins with the Normans in Sicily, 1189, and ends in the year 1531. Incipit : "The offspring of Duke Roberto Giuscardo had dominion over the kingdom of Puglia and the island of Sicily..."; explicit : [funeral of the Marquis of Pescara] And on the said funeral was placed to the side, on the walnut seat, which is to the side of the High Altar. And on the said funeral were placed the golden spurs...".
These Annals appear to be based on a text composed by combining various sources, which circulated under the name of Giuliano Passaro. An interesting codex, well worth studying.
