Specialist Notes
Original edition of the heraldry of Neapolitan families written by Abbot Cautillo. Staurita, or estaurita, a term used exclusively in Naples, referred to a noble association. The Staurita of San Pietro a Fusariello, also known as the "Sedile degli Acquarj," was founded in the 13th century by the initiative of six families: Macedonio, Dura, Gennaro, Pappacoda, Venata, and Strambone, and, together with the seats of the Griffi and Armato families, formed the Sedile of Porto.
