Original painting made by Manara and published for the first time in France in the volume "La modèle" published by Albin Michel in 2001, subsequently in Italy in "Il pittore e la modella" by Mondadori in 2002. One of the most original and heartfelt works of the Veronese master, conceived on the relationship between the painter (in the history of art) and the figure of the "model". Manara gives us one of the most refined and sensual images of his entire production, paying homage to the Flemish painter he also appropriates his style: that innovative way of conceiving space, full colour, the dazzling use of light that made Rubens a precursor of baroque culture. It is as if the two artists, centuries later, passed the baton to each other, the sensuality emanating from Rubens' bodies in his 17th century paintings is an echo that reverberates in Manara's artworks of the new millennium, both mastering one of the most recognizable traits of the history of art. Slight creases at the upper and lower right corner, small 2.5 cm tear at the right margin. Signed.
