The auction features two sessions, the first dedicated entirely to Chanel and Hermès, showcasing around 200 lots. Legendary pieces such as the Birkin, Kelly, and Constance, named after iconic women, are up for auction in various colors and very fine leathers. Additionally, Chanel bags in signature matelassé leather, ranging from mini to XXL sizes, are available.
The auction extends beyond vintage or more recent bags; it includes accessories, household items, jewelry, shoes, and clothes, many of which have never been worn. An important selection of colorful Hermès silk scarves from different eras, designed by renowned Parisian illustrators and inspired by equestrian, historical, or naturalistic themes, is up for bidding at the auction. These scarves have gained cult status as collectible items, presented in their unmistakable "orange boxes”.
The second session features around 100 lots from other exclusive Italian and French brands like Gucci, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Balmain, and Dior, with a selection from the 1960s to contemporary pieces. Conditions of Sale
In the spring of 2018, a section of the jewellery auction at the Rome office was dedicated to the best pieces from Elsa Martinelli‘s collection, exclusively made by stylists Roberto Capucci, Gai Mattiolo and Yves Saint Laurent for the diva in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
In March 2019, Finarte held the first auction entirely dedicated to the Luxury Fashion Department, which ended with exceptional success. The auction dedicated to a prestigious private collection of Hermès bags totalled over one million euros in sales, with 100% of lots sold. The absolute top lot, a splendid Birkin in Porosus fuchsia crocodile, sold for € 56,250.
