Auction details
The first session (lots 1-309) will be held on Wednesday, June 4, starting at 3 p.m. and will be entirely devoted to a collection belonging to an important distributor of wines and spirits in Milan, bottles purchased wholesale directly from the producers or distributors for Italy; the bottles are in perfect condition and for this reason it was not deemed necessary to photograph the individual lots (the images presented on Finarte's website are indicative of the type of bottle but do not represent the composition of the lot, for which reference is made to the description). VAT will be added to the adjudication value of the lots.
The second session (lots 1000-1245), Thursday, June 5, starting at 11 a.m., presents the largest and most comprehensive selection of wines from Valtellina ever presented in an auction. Belonging to a journalist specializing in the field and collected over a period of several years, the collection represents a selection of the best that has been produced in Valtellina from the late 1980s to the present: Rainoldi, Nino Negri, Mamete Prevostini, Plozza, Arpepe, Fay, Dirupi, Conti Sertoli Salis the best-known names, but the panorama is even richer and more varied. Next comes the section of Italian wines among which stand out the great Piedmontese Gaja, Roagna, Giacomo Conterno, Voerzio, Ester Canale with a magnificent 5 Liters of Barolo Vigna Rionda; from Tuscany we point out the very rare bottles of Biondi Santi Brunello Riserva from legendary vintages such as 1955 and 1964 in perfect condition.
The third session (lots 1246-1502) also on Thursday, June 5, at 3 p.m. Foreign wines and distilled spirits selection will be auctioned. From France there is an important selection from Burgundy, with bottles of Romanee St. Vivant from Domaine Marey-Monge, the last vintage before the transition to Romanee Conti, Coche Dury, Romanee Conti, Dujac, Fourrier, Rouget and Comte Georges de Vogue. Among Champagnes, all the big names such as Krug, Dom Perignon, Cristal, Armand de Brignac, Veuve Clicquot and Taittinger are present. Closing the review of foreign wines is a prestigious bottle of Screaming Eagle. Extensive Whisky section, where we highlight the famous Macallans and the very rare Glen Garioch 8 YO that closes the auction.

Conditions of Sale
The oldest Cantina in Barolo presented in a collection from 1931 to 2014.
This is the extreme synthesis to present the Finarte auction on June 9th, where an extraordinary selection of Barolo Borgogno of over 1,900 bottles will be auctioned, covering the time period 1931-2014 with great completeness: 1931, 1937, 1947, 1952, 1955, 1957, 1958, 1959 and then all the vintages produced without neglecting even one until 2014, with very rare bottles of Barolo Storico Crus and the most recent Crus, which the Farinetti management decided to enhance after the company’s acquisition in 2008.
The bottles, preserved with extreme care, have been viewed one by one by the Borgogno company which guarantees their authenticity and essential conservation requirements.
The collection is offered in lots divided into several large complementary verticals that offer the entire history of 1931-2014, in smaller verticals focused on specific periods and selections of targeted vintages and particular Crus.
The Monographic auction of the Barolo Borgogno 1931-2014 Collection will be preceded by two tasting events dedicated to collectors in Milan and Rome.
