Specialist Notes
ForPauline Reage's second book, Return to Roissy, Crepax decides to overturn thehistorical framework, passing from the 1930s of the first Historie d'O, moresuited to representing the metaphor of violent totalitarianism applied to sex,to the modern 1980s. , characterized by unbridled capitalism and hedonism as anend in itself. In this page there are some typical stylistic features of theauthor: his attention to design is reflected in the women hanging from themobile sculpture by Alexander Calder, and the small squares at the bottom righthighlight a different point of view from which to look at the scene. (man frombehind and in profile) as well as the detail on which his gaze rests (the tiedgirl's shoes).
