Specialist Notes
In 1951, Vacheron Constantin created a new radical timepiece that broke the aesthetic codes of that time, reference 4737, which Italian collectors affectionately nicknamed "Cioccolatone" thanks to its shape ironically reminiscent of a square of Swiss chocolate. Its dramatically oversized, curved, and sinuous square case was unique for any brand in that era, making the model standing out from all other watches on the market. It became one of Vacheron Constantin’s most sought-after watches of all time, equally for its avant-garde aspect and rareness. Until today, less than 350 examples of reference 4737 are known.
