Beginning from the 70s, Rolex adorned very few of their Day-Dates with refined lacquer "Stella" dials, regarded by collectors as some of the most sought-after versions of the model. Rolex offered a wide range of dial colors, from yellow to green, from light blue to burgundy -also referred to as "oxblood", such as the present watch, that features a rare smooth bezel too, adding another layer of collectibility.
