Canna ottagonale, rigata, con alta bindella marcata "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS" e brevetti fino al 1863, cal. 44 S&W. Tamburo liscio a sei colpi con punzone del banco di prova di Liegi. Castello con matricola "73xx". Apertura della canna verso l'alto. Grilletto pieghevole. Guancette nere lisce. Anello di sospensione. Nichelatura al 90 %. Interessante e raro modello probabilmente fabbricato su licenza a Liegi.
