Literature
Artist of Dutch origins, Freddy Wittop moved to Paris in 1930 where he designed for the Folies Bergère (1931-36) and, from 1936, for various theaters in London and New York. Having moved to New York in 1940, he worked for the French Casino and Ice Capades. From 1958 he dedicated himself exclusively to the theatre, quickly establishing himself as Broadway's first costume designer.
