Information
pencil, ink and watercolor on thin cardboard
27 x 39 cm
Original illustration made by Manara in the 2000s, published in the volume "Le veneri di Milo" by Imprimatur in 2012. Watercolors are among the Veronese master's most refined works; the shadows, lights, and nuances of color that create depth, all bring this style of drawing to life and enhance the female figures masterfully rendered by Manara. These images feature natural settings as a backdrop to the sensual protagonists: water, sun, and wind, almost as if to emphasize the impressionistic "en plein air" feel of the bodies sculpted by the brushstrokes. Signed.
