Original comic art made by Magnus for page 10 of "The Guardian of the Bridge," a novella from the Enchanted Women series, first published in Comic Art magazine n. 76 in February 1991. Magnus chose to portray himself and take on the role of a postal messenger in this, the final page of one of the Bolognese master's most cherished stories from his entire Enchanted Women series. Unanimously recognized as the Bolognese master's absolute masterpiece, Enchanted Women collects seven short stories centered on the theme of femininity and inspired by a volume of late 17th-century Chinese tales. Magnus manages to infuse these illustrations with all his passion for Eastern culture and philosophy, his love and admiration for nature and for "his" women, as perfect and unattainable as they are seductive and ghostly when needed. A museum-quality work that offers us the opportunity to appreciate like never before the love and effort Magnus poured into every single panel of his Femmine. Note the rare absence of photocopies.
