GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The genesis of the Jaguar E-Type Series 1 is rooted in the victories of the 1950s, born as a road-going heir to the D-Type that triumphed at Le Mans. It was conceived by Malcolm Sayer, an aerodynamicist who applied rigid mathematical principles to shape its sinuous lines, breaking away from the stylistic tradition of the previous XK line.
The project, started in 1956 under the technical guidance of William Heynes, saw the presentation of the definitive car at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961. Its astonishing performance - 150 mph (241 km/h) thanks to the 3.8L engine of the XK150S - disc brakes all round and a decidedly competitive price compared to its rivals of the time, made it an extraordinary success.

LOT DESCRIPTION

We are offering for auction an exceptional example of a 1963 Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe (FHC). The vehicle, of US origin, has been under the same ownership since 1992 and was registered in Italy at the end of 2004. This E-Type has recently undergone a major and complete restoration, documented and aimed at preserving its reliability and performance.
The vehicle is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Jaguar Heritage Trust.
