Specialist Notes
In 1960 Lancia entered a deep economic crisis and was purchased by Carlo Pesenti, a Bergamo industrialist. He entrusts the engineer Fessia, former Fiat project manager, as the technical director. In 1962 the Lancia Flavia was presented, proposed in a sedan version with a 1500 engine, but the following year the 1800 coupé version arrived, designed by Pinfarina, which was followed by a spider version by Vignale. In 1962 Zagato presented a sportier version, with an unconventional design by Ercole Spada, on a full alloy body. Only 670 Lancia Flavia Sport Zagatos were produced between 1962 and 1967, of which 101 were 1.3 liters and 569 were 1.8 liters (the last 32 with injection). Our car was produced in 1964, with the 1.8 liter engine. In 2014 it was prepared for competitions and completely restored. The engine is overhauled and upgraded with two double-barrel carburettors, aluminum radiator, Koni suspension with lowered springs, direct steering box and sports seats. The bumpers, which are included in the lot, are removed, while the original seats are no longer with the car. After the restoration it only traveled 2000 km and has not participated in any competition yet. The car is eligible for many historic rallies including the Tour Auto and Modena 100 Ore.
