Specialist Notes
The BMW 700 is the first economical car, entirely made by the Bavarian company after the Second World War. Characterized by the sober lines created by Giovanni Michelotti, it will achieve great sales success which will revive the company from the serious financial crisis into which it had fallen due to the incorrect choice to produce luxurious cars in the early 1950s. Initially proposed in the two-seater versions " Coupé" (E119) and "Cabriolet" (E110), from 1960 it will also be built in the four-seater sedan version, called "Limousine" (E107). The range was enriched in 1962 with the Luxus version, presented at the Geneva Motor Show and reserved for the sedan only, which stood out for its larger dimensions, due to a general increase in length of 32 cm (wheelbase increased by 16 cm) and for the equipment. Our example, chassis number 845894 and matching-numbers, was registered in Padova on 10 October 1963 and retains its original log book and first plate. It is in excellent condition. The bodywork has probably been restored not recently but the interior appears to be its original. It comes in the elegant white configuration with white interiors with red inserts. This is a car that, despite not having a very powerful engine, is suitable for taking part in regularity races.
