Specialist Notes
This four-wheel braked Isotta Fraschini has been rebuilt with a (Torpedo) doorless four-seated sports tourer body in the Italian idiom of the period. It has a hood, screen and rear trunk, and electric lighting is provided. Wheels are of detachable wood artillery type; the spare is mounted at the rear. This car has been standing still for more than 30 years with the need for consequent restorations; it has competed in several international Veteran and Vintage rallies as well as two Coppa Monza meetings. The rebuild was undertaken with the aid of the late Ing. G. Cattaneo, the car’s designer, and the radiator bears the inscription “Isotta Fraschini New York”, having been supplied (as a replacement for an incorrect one of straight-eight type) by Mr. Henry Austin Clarck of the Long Island Automotive Museum. Purchased at Christie's auction in Monza in 1974.
