The text of the pamphlet also appeared simultaneously (March 1975) in issue 2 of the magazine Gatti selvaggi, a clandestine periodical (four issues were published between 1974 and 1975), which anticipated many demands for proletarian autonomy in those years. Both the magazine and the Buco di Putignano association were close to radical circles. The language of these manuals was provocative, irreverent, and highly politicized. Proletarian expropriation, a tool of mass action carried out by looting and devastating large-scale production outlets (the UPIM was one such), was perceived as a necessary tool in the political struggle against large-scale property and multinationals.
