Specialist Notes

A fascinating book on the origins and lives of vagabonds, also known as Bianti, Cerretani, or Pitocchi...or as they were called by the 32 other names listed on page 2. The author devotes a short chapter to each of these groups, explaining the origin of their name and, above all, several stories. Equally intriguing is the final section dedicated to crafty speech, with a rich vocabulary of terms in the Zerga language.
