Specialist Notes
This is an important edition, one of the most significant of the 16th-century Dante editions; it was called "Dante del nasone" (Dante of the Big Nose) in reference to the poet's portrait. For the first time, the commentaries of Landino and Vellutello are brought together, and comparing the opinions of the 15th-century scholar with those of the 16th-century scholar is highly interesting for scholars.
