Information

Autographed and signed letter, 125x150 mm, contains a text that quotes: "My brave brother, you have written a fascinating book. It must render a great service to the progress of humanity. You strike strong blows to the heart, to the spirit and to justice. You are right. You say nothing but a great truth. It is all simple! My God, I also have hatred, but it is a hatred
against the shadow, which strikes until it laughs. I embrace you with constancy and tender courage, with sure joy. I applaud you with all my heart, Victor Hugo."

Specialist Notes

A beautiful collection of short correspondences from the great French writer, poet, playwright and politician, considered the father of Romanticism in France. They are intimate and familiar missives, but they also talk about literature, books received, exchanges of cultural opinions. A direct testimony to the genius of one of the greatest authors of all time. In one in particular he writes to a fellow friar and says he shares the ideas on justice that the fellow friar sets out in his book.
All to be studied.
