Ownership note contemporary with manuscript on the first leaf. RARE FIRST EDITION of Pontano's prose , gathered here in a single volume. He was recognized, already by Sannazaro, as one of the most prolific men of letters of the fifteenth century and perhaps the absolute master of Neapolitan Humanism, embracing in his work numerous aspects of the cultural life (not only literary) of his time: from astrology, to ethics, to the analysis of society, to rhetoric, to botany. The present collection includes: De Fortitudine, De Principe, Dialogus Antonius inscribitur, De Liberitate, De Beneficentia, De Magnificentia, De Splendore, De Conviventia, De Obedentia . The Dialogus is missing here Charon inscribitur , usually censored.
