Information

First edition, 1968, Einaudi publishing house. Editorial paperback. Third Work. With this collection of poems, the author won the 1969 Viareggio Prize. A friend of Roberto Calasso, founder of the Adelphi publishing house, Ceronetti was an eclectic personality of high intellectual rank. He translated from Latin, from ancient Hebrew, but also poetry contemporary to him. He introduced the works of Emil M. Cioran to Italy. At times even irreverent: in 2014, in an article in la Repubblica, inspired by the phenomenon of sexual assistants for the disabled and proposals on the affectivity of prisoners, he proposed the institution of a "voluntary erotic service" aimed at the elderly without them having to turn to prostitutes, to avoid "the barbarity of an old age without sex".
