Gargiuto is the founder of the artistic literary movement Armonismo . In his Manifesto, of March 1954, he writes that Armonismo intends to fight poetry as lament. Today's poets - he says - no longer sing but gnaw, they have become rodents that wallow in the sewers of pessimism, they complain about life and in doing so they have killed poetry like that fakir who voluntarily locked himself in a box to demonstrate his resistance to fasting, and came out a few days later a corpse. Armonismo instead wants a poetry that uplifts and does not depress, that makes one love life and not fear death. A healthy, singing, energetic and sunny poetry.
