Third edition, revised, corrected and expanded by the author, of this famous polemical text directed against the Protestants. Florimond de Raemond (or Remond, 1540?-1601), lawyer and historian of the Counter-Reformation, succeeded Montaigne at the Parliament of Bordeaux in 1570.
