Ownership notes on the title page "di Luigi Capponi".

FIRST AND ONLY EDITION of the Comedy with commentary by Bernardino Daniello. Posthumously printed in 1568 by the little-known Venetian publisher Pietro di Fino. Batines described this edition as very precious and much sought-after thanks to Daniello's commentary. However, this edition had limited circulation due to the accusations of plagiarism that weighed on it. In fact, Daniello, for this work as well as for another, the Poetica, was accused of having drawn from the writings of Gabriel Trifone, his teacher during his years in Padua. De Batines I, pp. 93-94; Mambelli, 41; STC Italian 210; Adams D, 104.
