See Quaranta, Biographies of Paolo Regio and Egidio Scalioni in "Francesco di Paola and the Order of Minini in the Kingdom of Napol". Conference proceedings. Naples, 2008, page. 71/124. Poetic transposition of Paolo Regio's text on the life of St. Francis of Paola.
Specialist Notes
The work, also used in the canonization process, is a primary source for the study of the life of the Saint and his times due to its historical and cultural peculiarity. The success of Regio's biography pushed Father Valentino Vespoli to complete the operation of hagiographic diffusion of the founder by commissioning the religious Minimo Father Egidio Scalione, a poetic transposition of Regio's text, who composed this work "Sacri Fasti" printed in Perugia in 1596. Thus, both Paolo Regio and Egidio Scalioni narrate and sing the birth and origin of Francis, the early years, the fulfillment of the vow at the convent of San Marco Argentano, the pilgrimage to Assisi, the retreat in the hermitage and the foundation of the Order
