Venice, by Gabriel Giolito de Ferrari, et fratelli, 1555. In 12°. Printer's mark on the title page, 12 woodcuts, tears in the lower margin of two leaves, one on the plate and on pg.13, with loss of portion of text, damp stains, valuable blond calf binding.
Specialist Notes
Mambelli 39: "A rare and clear edition in italic characters, decorated with initials, vignettes and floral motifs carved in wood...The 12 woodcuts, which occupy two-thirds of the pages, appear to be free reductions of the drawings in the Marcolini edition of 1545.".
