Lelio Brancaccio, first Marquis of Montesilvano (Naples, 1560 - 1637) commanded the Genoese troops in the wars against Savoy and against France (1626), was General Field Master of the Spanish militias in the French wars and was the author of important works of militaria including "Military Loads", which deals with the qualities that all those who occupy positions of responsibility in the armies must have.
