Specialist Notes
First edition, translated by the German Baron d'Holbach. Compilation of various books on glassmaking, collected and translated by Baron d'Holbach (in the preface it shows the various authors), including the important treatise by Neri (1612) which published for the first time how to make colored glass and crystal. Neri's book was the basis and foundation of all subsequent books on the same subject. You will observe among the various notes the secrets on how to use Henckel's plants for the manufacture of glass and, anonymously, the secrets of true porcelain. Finally, many recipes are reported in the margins of the art of glass, including that of cobalt blue etc.
