Lyons, Cornelius Hackius, 1762. In 2°. With 1 copper engraved frontispiece and 112 (of 115) copper engraved double page plates, each numbered and with caption in Italian, Latin, French depicting Venetian palaces and festivities, numbered 1-8, 11-101 and 103-115, also missing the 2 panels depicting respectively a perspective view of the city and a plan of Venice, slight foxing and some redness, the title page is missing, contemporary binding in full hazelnut leather with traces of the title in gold within the label on the spine, red cuts, defects on the spine, hinges and edges, some scratches and peeling.

First edition of this excellent example of landscape painting in which the horizon is described from a slightly elevated point of view.
