Padua, Pietro Paolo Tozzi, 1626. In 4th. Frontispiece in red and black, woodcut vignette with noble coats of arms on the frontispiece, 1 tab. folded, 251 images engraved in the text, slightly trimmed specimen, scattered blooms, light browning, more intense on some files, slight halo at the outer margin of some files, woodworm works that damage the mirror of the text in several files, coeval parchment binding , author and title handwritten on the spine, blue spray cuts, lacks on the spine, defects. Membership stamp in the end cap and signature on the title page.

Famous treatise by Cartari on the mythology of the ancients. As expressed in the preface to the text, the novelty brought by the author is that of having studied the iconography of the gods and their multiple characteristics. This text therefore becomes fundamental for artists, painters, sculptors, but also poets and prose writers, who must, in their works, represent or describe the classical pantheon.
