On the frontispiece large typographic brand, on the reverse of the titlepage the weapons of & nbsp; Johann Jakob Fugger dedicatee of the work, with 488 medals & nbsp; engraved in wood on a black background in the text, in the margins notes by an ancient hand and maniculae , & nbsp; to. p. 115 & nbsp; in the margin medal with hand-made explanatory text, on folios v3 and 4 "Le privilege du Roi", light browning on various cards, bound in parchment.
Specialist Notes
& nbsp; First Edition & nbsp; of the numismatic work of the Mantuan collector's antiquarian, published during his stay in France. There are described the Roman imperial coins accompanied by engravings in the text, many of them with the portrait of the emperors and empresses. The collection of coins and medals of the Strada was one of the most famous and important reference points for the history of ancient numismatics. Born in Mantua in the early decades of the sixteenth century, of a noble family, Strada was a goldsmith, antiquarian, collector, numismatist, especially in relations with the Habsburg courts.
