Frontispiece in a beautiful figured frame, portrait of the author, with 8 (of 11) numbered full-page plates, missing B1-2; B7, tears with loss at B4-5, slight marginal blooms, some slight halo and small spots. § Linked with the same author Discourse [...] on the way of doing caution, or rottorij à corpo humani, in which it is a question of sites, oue you have to do, de irri che vsar vi we must, of the way of keeping them open, of the ligatures, & amp; of the balls, & amp; of the utility that derives from them, very good things not only à barbieri , Brescia, Bartolomeo Fontana, 1618. Frontispiece within a figured frame, portrait of the author, numerous xylographic illustrations in the text, blooms, some small stain, slight water puddle on the last cards, coeval parchment binding, handwritten title on the spine, slightly loosened from the body of the text, defects. Stamp belonging to the counterplate, ex libris on the reverse of the title page and on the rear counterplate.
Specialist Notes
Important treatise on the practice of bloodletting written by the barber and surgeon originally from Piacenza Pietro Paolo Magni (1425-1586) which contains full-page engravings attributable to Adamo Ghisi Mantuano depicting bloodletting scenes and operations in various parts of the body. < / p>
