Chalcographic front with the 17 coats of arms of the Provinces, with 3 sheets of unnumbered plates and 120 numbered plates in fortified cities, text and title page within a wood engraved typographic frame, on paper C1 editorial cartouche glued with correction, light water gora at the upper margin of a few cards, very slight marginal blooms, small woodworm hole in the lower outer corner, some handwritten annotations, the 12 tables of portraits missing, small tears at the upper edge of cards n. 113 and 114, rare restorations, coeval half parchment binding, traces of a piece on the spine with author and title stamped in gold, some woodworm holes, slight defects.

Rare first edition. Gualdo Priorato, Galeazzo (Vicenza 1606 - there 1678) scholar and historian, he followed the family tradition by dedicating himself to the profession of arms: from soldier of fortune in Flanders to the numerous subsequent military campaigns. Military experiences were the subject of his works. The present work contains the three unnumbered plates depicting the naval battle of June 7, 1672, the "Passage du Rhein" of the French army in June 12, 1672 and the folded map of Gaul and 120 sheets of plant plates of & nbsp; city fortifications of the 17 Provinces of Belgium. & nbsp;
