Typographic mark on the title page and at the end, woodcut initials, text in italics, halo at the upper margin of some files, slight water gore, g8-h2 small gap affecting the text and restoration, restoration at the outer white margin of h3-4 and small tear, spot at the white margin of h8. Linked with Decimo Magno, Ausonius. Ausonius, Venice, heirs of Aldo Manuzio and Andrea Torresano, November 1517. Typographic brand with still aldine on the title page and at the end , italic text, slight and sporadic blooms, small tear with loss at the upper corner of b7. Linked with Juvenal, Tenth June; Pèrsio Flacco, Aulus , Iuuenalis. Persius , Venice, Aldus Manutius, August 1501. Typographical mark with aldine anchor on the title page, cursive text, light and sporadic blooms, coeval binding with handwritten authors on the spine with 3 nerves some halo. Signature of belonging to the title page of the first two works.
Specialist Notes
The specimen contains the first Aldine edition of the Satires of Juvenal and Persio printed in August 1501, and Aldo's fourth edition in italics, and the first and only aldine edition of Ausonio printed in the month of November of 1517.
