Collection of 42 finely engraved copper plates, c.ca 225 x 295, numbered 1- 12, 21-26, 33-50, 63-66, 68 and 69, signed in the lower left plate "Wm Hogarth Inv. Pinx ", and on the right the signature of several engravers, blooms spread at the margins, and browning, some stains, brown half leather binding of the time, the front plate has a large red Moroccan gusset with the inscription in gold "Hogarthischen kupferstiche zu lichtenberg's erklärungen", worn.

Beautiful collection of copper engravings based on the drawings of Hogarth (1697-1764), which depict satirical visions on topical issues, and tell the vices and virtues of the English society of the eighteenth century, expressing value judgments and revealing the ideas of artist on his world.
