Many documents on "French Empire" headed paper, bearing the usual mottos Liberty and Equality, offer a vivid insight into the administration of the res publica first under the Roman Republic and then under the French Empire, relating to the territories of Tivoli, Zagarolo, Gallicano , Palombara, Palestrina, Monte Libretti, Mentana etc. Many of which signed by the relative "Maire" of the different communities. A whole to be studied.
