Specialist Notes
Very rare original edition on the market. The treatise is largely by Cavalieri and is divided into two parts - one expounding the doctrine of the sphere, the second consisting of astronomical practices, many of which D'avisi had already published in '56) - and preceded by a life of the Cavalieri. The work is the Italian translation of the Latin work Sphaera seu doctrinae spericae published in Bologna by Cavalieri in 1642, with additions and modifications by D'avisi.
