Specialist Notes
First edition of the Arabic grammatical treatise known as Tasrīf al-Zanjānī, published by Raimondi in Rome and not reprinted until 1817 in Istanbul, dedicated to Pope Paul V. The volume presents the Arabic text with a literal and exegetical Latin translation, sometimes with commentary. The printing, of great typographical elegance, is distinguished by the use of large-bodied Arabic characters and the title engraved in taʿlīq script.
