Venice, Presso Andrea Poletti, 1705. In-4°, modern brown leather binding (made by Cantoni Cesena, as per the gilt stamp on the front pastedown), with five-ribbed spine, gilt impressions and decorations on the covers and spine, gilt title impressed on the spine; pp. [8], 470, [2], [3] c. of copperplate illustrations. Woodcut mark on the front (allegory of Italy, with the legend "L'Italia"). Dedication by the author to the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo III. Woodcut initials, headpieces and tailpieces. White N4 paper. Two large plates folded several times, two small woodcuts. At the end of the text is the list and history of the bishops, podestàs, men and notable things of Osimo. Solid binding and in excellent condition. Occasional presence of stains and foxing on the leaves. Traces of old restorations on the folded plates. § Together in the lot: Talleoni M., History of the ancient city of Osimo by Marcantonio Talleoni, patrician of Osimo and academic of the Crusca, divided into two volumes , Osimo, Presso Domenicantonio Quercetti public printer, 1807. Large in-4°, 270x194 mm, half parchment binding with corners and decorated paper on the covers, gilded title on a leather label on the spine, red edges; work in two volumes; pp. XII, 320; 368 [ie 268]. First and only posthumous edition of this precious historical work, of great interest for the local history of the Marche, edited by Marcantonio Talleoni (1721-1806). Ownership label glued to the front pastedown, with the Gallo family coat of arms (Ex libris Jacobi Gallo) and a handwritten indication on the back of the first free front cover (Di Cesare Gallo). Some old handwritten notes in the margins of the text. Signs of use on the binding (abrasions on the covers and edges, small woodworm damage to the parchment spines). Thick interior leaves, with very large margins. Some leaves are loosely bound. Light browning on the leaves, occasional foxing, rare stains, and small stains. Small woodworm damage to the inside covers.
