Information
In Padua, at the Penada printing house, 1776. In 2°. Beautiful engraved and folded view of the city, 4 full-page plates outside the text, numerous illustrations in the text, genealogical table printed and folded several times, small tears on the first and last folded leaf, but overall an excellent copy, 19th-century half-leather and cardboard binding.
Specialist Notes
A valuable and rare work, which the author dedicates to the Deputies and Council of Este, lamenting the lack of a scholarly study of reliable documents. The aim is "to produce only that [historical overview] of its Antiquities...in order to clarify its true condition in other times." A heralded second part will never see the light of day.
