Specialist Notes
A rare edition from this all-female publishing venture. This copy contains the only two works written by Angelica Baitelli, a distinguished Brescian historian and abbess of the convent of Santa Giulia. After working for years to organize and collect the monastery's archival materials, Baitelli published these two texts on the history of the monastery itself from its foundation to 1657 and on the life of Santa Giulia. The edition was dedicated and donated by the printer Antonio Rizzardi to Don Fortunata Mondella, a nun of the Royal Monastery of Santa Giulia.
