Specialist Notes

The last table is numbered LVIII, but some previous tables have bis. & Nbsp; An authoritative geographer, as well as a fervent and active Mazzinian, Marmocchi (Poggibonsi 1805 - Genoa 1858) elaborated important works of statistical-descriptive geography, dedicating himself with passion for exploration and travel relationships. Relevant for his time is the approach to the discipline "understood as a science of the territory, but also as a comparative description of the socio-economic conditions and ways of organizing the States" (Landucci, p. 387)
