Information
Livorno, the Imprimerie des éditeurs, 1774; 1776. In 2nd. Only 2 volumes: "Quatrieme livraison, ou cinquieme volume" and "Huitieme livraison, ou neuvieme volume" (of XI), specimens in beards. First tome: half-title, title page, complete with 248 copper plates, 12 of which folded, restoration to plate 109-110, a few slightly yellowed pages, some rare and light halo. Second tome, half-title, frontispiece, complete with 253 engraved copper plates of which 41 folded, some papers slightly yellowed, some sporadic blooming and reddening, small woodworm hole at the external lower white margin, coeval binding in half parchment with title, number of tome and librarian numbering manuscripts on the spine, defects.
Specialist Notes
The lot consists of two volumes (IV and VIII) of tables by the engraver Antonio Baratti, part of the thirteenth edition printed in Livorno (1771-1778). Topics included: astronomy, physics, hydraulics, optics, carriages, upholstery.
