Nuremberg, Christoff Gerhard, 1657. Oblong octavo. 5 volumes in 3 volumes. First part with illustrated title page, 1657. German library stamp and another stamp with the red words "SOLD", repeated in all volumes, each volume with many noble coats of arms engraved in copper, light reddening and blooms, some stains, elegant bindings in contemporary red morocco, plates framed by a frame, in the centre of the field gold frieze, three nerves, gilded cuts, damaged corners, abrasions.
Specialist Notes
Siebmacher's main work was first published in two volumes in 1605-09, Paul Fürst took over his publishing house in the 1950s and published the current expanded edition in four parts. A fifth part was announced in 1665, and the appendix to the fifth part with the complete register (according to Hampe) was finally published in 1668.
