Lot consisting of a card and a letter, autographed by Ugo Ojetti.
The autographed note is headed " Royal Academy of Italy ," sent to Luigi Freddi from Florence on September 21, 1934, written on both front and back. Ojetti congratulates Freddi, who that very day had been appointed Director General for Cinematography by Galeazzo Ciano, with Mussolini's approval: " I read the news of your appointment as head of propaganda through the cinema and I am happy to finally see you in a position of command and responsibility ."
Ojetti also claims to be one of the few writers of his generation to follow cinema with great interest and is convinced that Freddi will be able to work well for fascist propaganda both abroad and in Italy.
The autographed letter on " Royal Academy of Italy " headed paper, written on the front only, was sent to Luigi Freddi from Florence on March 19, 1939. Ojetti congratulated Freddi, writing, " If you're happy, I'm happy ," stating that freedom of action was important in a difficult time for the film industry. Ojetti concluded with evocative words, " Happiness for men of talent, young or old, lies in work and risk, " and referred to Freddi's resignation from the Directorate General for Cinematography in March 1939.
