Information
A splendid, unique piece of memorabilia: the jacket worn by Lucio Dalla during the famous DallAmeriCaruso tour in 1986. The jacket is made of shiny fabric, branded "Jean Reims - Exclusivités Masculines." The same jacket was later used on other occasions, for example in a 1978 video with De Gregori for "Ma come fanno i marinai."
Specialist Notes
Lucio Dalla's most important concert/tour.
In 1986, Dalla embarked on a US tour with Stadio, a rather unusual event for an Italian artist at the time. The tour visited several American cities and culminated in the historic concert on March 23, 1986, at the Village Gate in New York , one of the most prestigious venues on the New York music scene.
From those performances came the live album DallAmeriCaruso , released in October of the same year. Originally intended to be simply a compilation of recordings made during the American tour, Dalla decided to add a new song: "Caruso," inspired by a stay in Sorrento and destined to become one of the most famous Italian songs of all time.
In 2023, the complete footage of the New York concert was discovered and restored by Walter Veltroni, resulting in the documentary DallAmeriCaruso - The Lost Concert and the release of the complete audio of the show. This material has allowed us to rediscover the historical importance of that American tour, considered by many to be one of the pinnacles of Dalla's live career.
