The Mille Miglia was Italy's most famous and romantic automobile race, held from 1927 to 1957 on public roads. The 24th edition in 1957 was tragically its last: after the accident on May 12, 1957, in which Alfonso de Portago lost his life along with his co-driver and ten spectators, the race was definitively cancelled. This lot bears witness to this last historic edition.
