Enamelled and shaped metal sign for ANTICO CAFFE' DEL MORO (Trastevere district in Rome) advertising FERNET BRANCA .
It was around 1896, during the Abyssinian War, and the Antico Caffè del Moro was a meeting place for the people of Trastevere and Romans in general. The plaque recalls that period, depicting two riflemen and a sailor offering a glass of Fernet Branca to some Abyssinian women. The original, much larger plaque still hangs on the wall of this historic Roman café.
In good condition, measures approximately 530x410mm at maximum dimensions
