In the small side boxes at the bottom we read "AWARDED WITH HIGHEST HONOURS IN THE MAIN EXHIBITIONS" and "ONE OUNCE OF SEED YIELDES 80 kg. OF PRODUCT" with a silkworm butterfly/moth in the center.

Sericulture (breeding Bombyx mori for silk production) was one of the main economic activities in the Veneto region between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Vittorio Veneto (Treviso) was one of the most important centers for the production of quality silkworm seed.
